Western Arizona, Spring of 2003

 This trip was actually a trip to drive my daughter to Blythe to meet up with my Dad. On the way back, we hit the desert roadways and wait until the sun set. The desert was crawling that night. We found several sidewinders, none of which I could photograph with my digital camera (my lens requires that I get too close to them for a decent shot.) I did, however take these two pictures, the first is an adult leaf nosed snake, the second is of a very attractive shovelnose snake:
